BYD K8SR Electric Bus Metroline These photographs show Metroline fleet number BYD1471 (LJ16EZM) The BYD K8SR is described on the BYD website as "the world's first pure electric zero emission double deck bus". It was designed and built by BYD in China and entered service with Metroline in the spring of 2016. At the time of writing, BYD1471 is one of 5 buses fleet numbers BYD1471 to BYD1475 operated by Metroline on route 98 between Willesden Bus Garage and Holborn Red Lion Square. In mid January 2017, I was made aware of a 1:64th scale diecast model manufactured by BYD and on sale at Hong Kong model shop Network Shuttle. The model features fleet number BYD1471, notably the model is not displaying a front index plate and is in predominately red livery as opposed to the the red and green leaf "Cleaner Air" livery displayed on the bus in service.
